A baby-friendly cinema screening of a new release film in a cinema with sofas? It sounded too good to be true but Baby Club was wonderful.

I loved having my baby in the cinema with me. We shared a relaxing morning with cuddles, cake and coffee.

The Cinema

Baby Club - Everyman Cinema, WinchesterWhen we arrived, the cinema was nearly full but somehow we found a single sofa on the aisle by the door.

The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and a number of people smiled at me when I arrived.

Babies, Babies Everywhere

Baby Club - Everyman Cinema, WinchesterThere were babies everywhere – snuggling on sofas, lying on the floor, cuddling up on laps, sleeping in buggies or being rocked in aisles. Most were tiny.

They babbled and cried on and off throughout the film but I didn’t really notice, probably because the film sound was at a good level – just loud enough that you could hear it over the crying but not so loud that I ever worried about my baby’s hearing.

Tickets with a Cake and Drink

Baby Club - Everyman Cinema, WinchesterTickets included a cake and a hot drink. The staff were friendly and one walked me to the cinema screen and held the door open for me.

There are good baby changing facilities in the foyer, which people were using throughout the film.

Seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
